FUSION
Fusion happens when you transfer enhances from a sacrifice equipment (source) to your target item. There are a few things to consider when fusing:
[90-2(90-90)]/100*(21-5) = 0.9*16 = 14.4 or 14, rounded down.
New Fallen sword bonus = 14(5) + 35 = 70+35 = Fallen sword +105 (21 enhances)
another one:
Demon robe +105 to Greater Fallen deathbow + 72
[90-2(93-61)]/100*(105-5) = [90-2(32)]/100*100 = (90-64)/100*100 = 0.26*100 = 26 enhances
New Greater Fallen deathbow bonus = 26(6) + 72 = 156+72 = Greater Fallen deathbow +228
Why fuse? Rather than to throw your old equipment away when you get a higher level one, fusion allows you to transfer some of your saved enhances to the new one. There is also what we call "chain fusing", where players buy a pre-enhanced item from BM (highest available is +20), then fusing them to another item from BM, doing it over and over again until they can fuse the collected enhances to their desired equipment. It may seem like a tedious task, but compared to the cost of enhance potion and the amount you'll use (you need 900 successful potions if you want to cap the traditional way), chain fusing may actually be a shortcut to enhance soft cap.

Fusion happens when you transfer enhances from a sacrifice equipment (source) to your target item. There are a few things to consider when fusing:
- Only level 50 and above items can be fused; except rings, they are always level 1.
- The source item must have at least 21 enhances. For armor and ring, 1 enhance point = 1 defense. For sword and staff, 1 enhance point = 5 weapon damage. For gun, 1 enhance point = 6 weapon damage.
- Your source item must always have more enhances than your target item.
- The source item must be in your inventory, not bank, for the "fusion" button to appear. The target item must be equipped.
- Enhance your target item to +7 first before fusing. All items start with 100% base success rate, and decreases per successful enhance until 8 (it will always start at 10% at +8).
- Only the item's enhances will be transferred, NOT its stat bonus or special attribute (guardian, enchanted, or scoped).
- The target item must not have 900 enhances or above.
- Fusion is capped at 900 enhances. Any excess enhances above that will be wasted.
- The formula for fusion is: [90-2(target level - source level)]/100*(source's enhances-5). Example:
[90-2(90-90)]/100*(21-5) = 0.9*16 = 14.4 or 14, rounded down.
New Fallen sword bonus = 14(5) + 35 = 70+35 = Fallen sword +105 (21 enhances)

New Greater Fallen deathbow bonus = 26(6) + 72 = 156+72 = Greater Fallen deathbow +228

Thanks to Stelly77 for the charts.
Though h5 and h8 can only be accessed by level 96/100, the point is chain fusing is certainly much faster and cheaper than the traditional 1 epot = 1 enhance process.
Find me in kongregate, or any veteran DW player who fuses, if you are still confused.
